Intro - Welcome to the Weekly Roar
• This week I’m continuing the Growth Series with a special guest to discuss the Law of the Mirror, BUT FIRST…
• Greg Storch – Founder of Lion Enterprise, Speaker, Coach, & Trainer and a CPC
• Law Summary: Last week I spoke with Steve Finch out in San Diego and we discussed how important self-esteem can be when it comes to our growth. He shared some great personal stories about influencers in his life that helped him develop a strong sense of self. I really enjoyed my chat with him, and I hope ya’ll did too.
• This week I’m continuing this Growth Series, and we’re talking about The Law of Reflection – Learning to Pause Allows Growth to Catch Up With You
• And here with me today, hailing from Greenwood, Indiana, but always on the go and could be joining from anywhere, my good friend, Melahni Ake.

Melahni, welcome to The Weekly Roar and thank you so much for joining us today.
Guest acknowledges welcome…thanks for having me…etc, etc, etc
SUMMARY: Melahni, as you know, I’ve selected each of the 15 laws and matched them to my guests. I knew right away that this was your law. The reason I picked it was because of the story I heard when we first met. You were let go unexpectedly as the result of downsizing. Would you be willing to share that story briefly with us and dovetail it into how this law really helped you rise from the ashes?
I didn’t allow someone else’s beliefs determine my value the day after I was eliminated on Friday April 6 th I singed a contract with the IMA for my 50in50 dream. That event is taking place next Saturday March 2
Melahni, I like to kick these discussions off with my guests sharing a little bit about their own growth journey.
Q: What has your personal growth journey been like for you? Always since I was a child has the passion to connect to people through watching my grandparents
So, learning to pause allows growth to catch up to you, this is what reflection is all about.
Q: Please talk a little but about how the power of the pause has played a role in your life and how you learned to grow from reflection? Currently growing a medical device company, deciding that I had grown in my own capacity to create the team to support beliefs and that we can become
Everyone needs a time and a place to pause and reflect. I have a feeling I know the answer to my next questions, but I’ll ask it anyway.
Q: Where do you go to pause and reflect on things – where is your “thinking space”? First thing in the morning: where ever I am. Intentionally set Time aside to regroup watch my mentors, and listen to content, create content when traveling. Becoming hyper aware everywhere I go, and traveling
Good questions are at the heart of reflection. Tony Robbins says that “successful people ask better questions, and as a result, get better answers.” John shares some of the questions he asks himself when he reflects, so I want to ask you some of those…Sort of a yin-yang style…ready?
Q: What is your biggest asset my energy—- it gives me the opportunity to push for the things I am curious about or have an idea about... I’m never to (tired) to say... put that on a list for tomorrow. I want to get it down and think into the possibility, and on the contrary, what is your biggest liability thinking about structure as a fear that other people’s structures will box me in (my beliefs about structure) I’m working on that one everyday structure creates accountability I think of structure as the idea there is only one way to do things...... .
Q: What has been your highest high (bringing people along with me on my journey and creating an amazing network of mentors and friends that I didn’t even know 12 months ago. and your lowest low- when I for one second allowed someone else’s beliefs to become mine. It wasn’t mine, and it didn’t feel right, and it was a lonely place—- for a second - growing up in an apartment I always dreamed about a place where people could come and stay
Q: Okay, Melahni, last big one…what is your best habit (connecting with others- I always want to find value in making a connection with someone and practice this with every person I meet. For my podcast, I must connect to you and am inspired by you in some way that we are on the same journeys, and I believe your story can change the world and what do you think is your worst habit? Connecting::::: its an addiction you know Mt sister in law told me 28 yers ago the things that attracts you to your spouse is the things that will drive you away and for many years I believed that, and then I discovered through my own self awareness of why I was attracted to that and how to celebrate that in our life. There must be a balance
Q: If you were explaining this law to a stranger, what would you tell them? Reflection allows you to truly step into YOUR STORY, identify with your BELIEFS and begin to LIVE YOUR STORY and YOUR life with success. If you are living someone else dream, buy a journal, go back and begin to write down YOUR LIFE one year and one influence at a time. Look deep into the meaning of knowing what you know now…..You know the old saying, if I could go back and know what I know today…..DO IT!
What are you currently working on? Everyday Leaders 50in50 Leadership Summit March 2, 2019. Indianapolis Museum of Art register on my website to receive information.
