Mentoring Matters

Did you know that this man, my mentor and friend Dr. John C Maxwell, inspired the brand of Everyday Leaders? I love him with all my heart, and our journey together has so much meaning because of the connection we share in many common and simple things.

  • First, my father's name was John, and now my mentor is John.

  • John's Birthday is Feb 20, and My mom, Joyce Brown's birthday is Feb 19th.

  • John's father passed away on July 4, 2020, and my dad's identical twin, Jim, passed away within just two weeks on July 18, 2020. Since my father passed away when I was just five years old, my uncle was a physical reminder of my dad my whole life up until that point.

Everyday Leaders 50in50 podcast has been inspired by my beliefs to add value to people to help make a difference and bring a brighter light to the world.

John also challenged me to seek wisdom by studying the book of Proverbs, so on Oct 1, 2019, a group of us joined together on Zoom to begin a journey that has taken us through life, through Covid, relationship changes, job changes, accomplishments, births, deaths, and growth and today Nov 9, 2023, we are celebrating 1500 days of consistency in our journey of wisdom.

Leaning into a mentoring relationship can change your life for the better. It can help you gain clarity on your gifts and recognize significant growth areas. I am so grateful to my mentor for helping me understand how valuable life is when you can fill your cup every day so you have plenty to give away. My life is designed with a purpose to make a difference. Thank you for being on my journey.

Love you, John! Thank you for being my mentor and my friend.
