🌈 Day 22: Reflect, Receive, and Run Toward Your Calling: #75HardMaxwellized | A Reflection Lesson on Growth, Gratitude & God’s Timing

“Experience is not the best teacher—evaluated experience is.”

—John C. Maxwell, The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth, Chapter 4: The Law of Reflection

Today’s lesson from The Law of Reflection hit me straight in the heart—and then God sent a double rainbow to seal it. Literally.

As I sat overlooking Mirror Lake and the Olympic Ice Arena in Lake Placid after a leadership training session I decided to stay in my hotel and have dinner because it was raining. I was a little sad because I felt like I was going to miss seeing the rest of this quaint little community that I am quickly learning to love.. Traveling for work has always inspired me to experience the NOW.

So it’s Tuesday night and at 7pm every Tuesday night I meet with a small

group on zoom for growth and accountability no matter where I am in the world zoom is easy to jump on. So we were discussing on our accountability call tonight about our momentum and seeing your goals the way God sees them and WHY don’t we trust that God’s plans are so much greater than ours. That’s when I looked up from my chair nestled up to the picture windows overlooking the Lake Placid community. Outside the windows where it had been pouring down rain just moments ago ———BOOM—a perfect double rainbow arched over the horizon.

In that moment, the message was crystal clear: God’s vision for your life is often bigger, brighter, and more miraculous than you can imagine—but to see it, you must first pause and reflect on what He’s already done.

💡 The Law of Reflection: Why It Matters

Reflection isn’t just remembering. It’s evaluated gratitude.

It’s when you look back to gain insight, not just to revisit memories.

Maxwell teaches that growth doesn’t happen just because time passes—it happens when we intentionally pause, consider, and learn.

THIS MOMENT HAPPENED EXACTLY AT THE TIME WE WERE INTENTIONALLY PAUSING TO REFLECT

So today—Day 22 of this #75HardMaxwellized challenge—I’m issuing a Gratitude Reflection Challenge to you.

✍️ Reflection & Gratitude Challenge:

  1. What’s a moment this week that surprised you—in a good way?

(One of mine was the double rainbow!)

  2. Where have you grown emotionally, spiritually, or relationally in the last 22 days?

Be specific. Your growth deserves to be named.

  3. What gift from God have you overlooked because you’ve been too busy moving?

    Pause. Breathe. Receive.

  4. What “Miracle on Ice” moments are already showing up in your life story?

Don’t miss them just because they don’t look like fireworks. What is the moment that because you took action it happened?

🛑 Why This Matters

If we don’t reflect, we miss the message.

If we don’t pause, we miss the presence.

And if we don’t give thanks, we miss the grace that was meant to fuel our next step.

The reflection is the revelation.

God shows us what we’re ready to see.

So the rainbow wasn’t just a pretty view. It was a divine exclamation point on the lesson:

✨ “I see you. I’ve got more. Keep going.”

👟 Your Turn: Step Into the Vision

God’s gifts are already on the way.

But He’s waiting for you to show Him that you’re ready.

Reflect.

Give thanks.

Receive.

Then GO—because it’s YOUR TIME.
